INTERNATIONAL CLUB
exists to learn about other cultures.  Its motto is Amour (Love), Lealtad (Loyalty), Civitas (Citizenship), and Freundschaft (Friendship).  We have been a part of Sandusky High School since the new high school building opened in 1957.  Since then, we have hosted almost 100 foreign exchange students from American Field Service (AFS) and Rotary, and we have sent abroad over 50 SHS students.  When people of different backgrounds get to know one another, the world becomes a little smaller, and a lot more peaceful.  That is what International Club is all about.  We usually meet the second and/or fourth Wednesday of each month.

MAJORETTES - Labreeska Risner, Advisor
The Sandusky High Majorettes are directly associated with the Sandusky High Band.  Darcy Johnson is the advisor and a prior SHS Majorette.  The SHS line is made up of 5 to 6 female high school students with prior twirling experience.  Tryouts are held in May each year for the following football season.  The line practices throughout the summer and takes part in a camp at Ashland University.  The SHS line performs at every football game, pep rally and band concert during the fall of the school year.  The SHS Majorettes can also be seen in parades throughout the year.

TEENS FOR CHRIST

UNITED BLACK STUDENTS
aka: UBS was established in 1973 by a student body of black students who got together and decided they wanted to put on a talent show that was gear toward the African American students now know as the AFRO BALL.

During the month of February we also put on the black expo to showcase the creative talents of the students involved in the club while honoring and paying tribute to their past black ancestors.  The club meets at least twice a month except during Afro Ball time.  We now run the last minute shop which is an in-school store for students to buy supplies throughout the day.  All money that is raised between the last minute shop and the Afro Ball go toward financial scholarships for the students participating in UBS.
